James started his teaching journey in 2000 and spent the next 6 years developing his passion for teaching and learning, in the role of Director of Studies at a school in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Returning to the UK in 2007 to continue his studies, James completed his PGCSE and QTS at the Harwich High School, where over the subsequent 7 years, in addition to teaching English, he held the positions of Whole School Literacy Coordinator and Head of Key Stage 3 English.
James joined BVIS in 2014 and over the past 10 years has held the position of Head of English & Media Studies Faculty and spent a year seconded to the Secondary Leadership Team. James also introduced the Media Studies A level course to the school and, along with other teachers, launched the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at BVIS.
